Adam Neff

Adam Neff is a Patent Agent and joined the firm in 1995. He initially worked as a patent searcher and then gradually transitioned into U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, where he has gained extensive experience in patent application drafting in various fields, including color calibration, telecommunications, and various mechanical devices. Adam has extensive experience in all aspects of patent prosecution, including briefing and arguing appeals at the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His work spans a broad spectrum of technical areas and includes work for many of the firm’s large corporate clients as well as various inventions by independent inventors.

Adam is fluent in Japanese and also supervises the firm's in-house translation department. He works with the department to prepare Japanese translations of the firm's Special Reports, as well as many Japanese-to-English translations of technical documents and client correspondence. He has traveled to Japan on numerous occasions to assist with various client matters, as well as providing presentations on U.S. patent practice and trends in both English and Japanese.

Prior to joining the firm and before earning his engineering and Japanese degrees, Adam lived in Japan for two years while serving a religious mission. During his college years he also completed an internship working as a guide for Japanese tourists in Los Angeles, California and Orlando, Florida, and also worked as a Japanese-to-English translator of various documents including patent applications.
