Rachel O’Connell is a registered patent agent and assists clients with patent preparation and prosecution primarily in the areas of Biotechnology, Biomedical, Mechanical, & Medical Devices. She has BS and MS degrees in Bioengineering with a concentration in Biomedical Signals and Systems. As an engineering student, Rachel worked on projects ranging from developing cochlear implants to researching DNA hydrogels for a tissue engineering lab to engineering electrical circuits and sensors for wireless technology.
Prior to joining the firm, Rachel worked as a Patent Examiner for 4 years at the USPTO, examining patent applications in a range of areas including ostomy/colostomy appliances, blood treatment, shunts and blood bags, catheters and wound drainage, extracorporeal treatment systems, and absorbent articles.
